Travel Notes
Program Flexibility
This itinerary is indicative. Routes and timing may shift due to weather, safety, flight changes, or local conditions. The route may also run in reverse depending on flight schedules. Your local guide will adapt as needed to ensure a smooth experience.
Sleeping Arrangements
Sleeping under the stars is part of the experience. Like desert nomads guided by the night sky, sleeping outdoors offers a magical, authentic Saharan initiation. All gear is provided.
Showers
Public bath (hammam) available at the end of the trip—cost included. In the desert, water is limited: use small basins or wipes for basic hygiene. Please help us preserve the bivouac sites: burn waste (including cigarette butts), and take all non-burnables with you.
Meals
All meals are included and prepared by our cook using fresh, local ingredients:
- Breakfast: tea, coffee, bread, butter, jam.
- Lunch: cold salads, crudités, dessert, tea.
- Dinner: warm meals like couscous, rice, pasta, soup, local bread (T’Aguilla), dessert, tea.
- Snacks: afternoon tea and dates.
Minimal meat; mostly vegetarian. All kitchenware provided. Wood is scarce, so it’s reserved for tea and bread only; gas is used for cooking.
Toilets
No WC in the desert. Bring toilet paper and burn it after use. Water is provided but should be used sparingly.
