Day 1 – Arrival in Djanet
Welcome at Djanet Airport by Tuareg drivers and guide. Transfer to the bivouac for overnight.
Day 2 – Beybey Canyons
Start trekking with camels through the Beybey Canyons. Lunch at Taghrimt-Intinassagh after about 3 hours of walking. Continue 2 more hours into the Tassili mountains. Overnight bivouac at Tintbouraghen.
Day 3 – Agba Assakaou
Morning ascent to Agba Assakaou. Lunch and bivouac at Intadjedite. Afternoon visit to the rock paintings of Tichakalaouen.
Day 4 – Tissoukaye
Stay in the same area for lunch. Visit the Tissoukaye rock paintings. Overnight bivouac at Ouan-Tayssan.
Day 5 – Across the Tassili Plateau
Visit the rock paintings of Inakatafaet-Tintekelte. Cross the vast landscapes of the Tassili. Lunch at Tinrassou. Visit more paintings and overnight bivouac at Tin-Tatayte.
Day 6 – Inadarbaouan
Visit the rock paintings of Inadarbaouan. Lunch at Tinabateka. Afternoon visit to more sites and overnight bivouac at the same spot.
Day 7 – Sefar
Visit the paintings of Tintazareft and Tintaferyaste. Lunch at Sefar, with its extraordinary rock art. Overnight bivouac at Sefar.
Day 8 – Towards Oued Adjadjoum
Depart from Sefar in the afternoon, visit the paintings of Tin-Tafinagh. Bivouac at Oued Adjadjoum.
Day 9 – Timmesseoues and Allagh-Ndimint
Visit the rock paintings of Timmesseoues and Allagh-Ndimint. Lunch and overnight bivouac at Tin-kani.
Day 10 – Tamrit
Visit the paintings of Timanzouzen, the engravings of Tamrit, the Cypress Valley, and the great canyons of Tamrit. Lunch and overnight bivouac at Tanzoumaitak.
Day 11 – Canyon Crossing
Cross varied canyon landscapes. Lunch at Ikarfafadaouan. Overnight bivouac at Tinamlalen.
Day 12 – Day without camels
Picnic lunch. Afternoon visit to gueltas (natural basins) and canyons. Meet up with camels again at Oued Talaguite. Overnight bivouac.
Day 13 – Oued Talaguite & Return to Djanet
Trek 4 hours across Oued Talaguite. Meet the 4x4s for transfer to the agency’s residence. Lunch, showers, and rest. Afternoon stop in Djanet: visit local crafts market and the National Park Museum. Evening bivouac at Erg Admer, next to the famous “Crying Cow” engraving.
Day 14 – Departure
Transfer to Djanet Airport for your flight.
