Day 1 – Djanet to Elberdj

Arrival at Djanet Airport. Departure towards the Tadrart Rouge, passing through Amaïs, Imaharhatan, and Esseti. Arrival in Elberdj and overnight bivouac.

Day 2 – Elberdj to Moulanaga

Breakfast, then visit the prehistoric rock engravings and paintings along the Elberdj valley. Lunch break. In the afternoon, continue towards the dunes of Moulanaga, with a stop at a small cave of rock art. Leave the 4x4s to enjoy the beauty of the dunes while the team sets up camp. Overnight bivouac in Moulanaga.

Day 3 – Moulanaga to Timarzouga

After breakfast, drive towards Tehe-Thosayat and the engraved rock of Wan Tfalghagh. Lunch. Continue in the afternoon to rock art sites, the dunes of Wan Zawatan, the “Arch of Africa” in In-Tehak, the Bouhadian rock paintings, and the natural “hedgehog” sculpture. Arrive at the Timarzouga dunes by sunset and bivouac.

Day 4 – Timarzouga to Wan Tabrakkat

Breakfast, then head to the natural “World Cup” rock formation, followed by the canyon of Imasngga (Essirk) with its striking red sands. Continue to the arches of In-Tehak. Lunch break. Afternoon visits include a rock art shelter and the Tin Abaden canyon, a dramatic mountain fissure. Pass through Tissatka and Wan Oksam to see fossil rocks. Overnight bivouac in Wan Tabrakkat.

Day 5 – Wan Tabrakkat to Tifartassen

Exit the Tadrart, passing by the black dunes of Adjalati. Briefly join the paved road, then leave it to reach Tin Akahm to see more rock paintings. Lunch. Continue towards Djanet, stopping at the famous “Crying Cow” engraving in Tegharghart. Bivouac in Tifartassen.

Day 6 – Tifartassen to Essendilène

Drive towards the Essendilène Valley, passing near the dunes of Erg Admer. Arrive around midday and pause for lunch. Afternoon 2-hour trek through the canyon to reach the beautiful guelta (water basin). Return to the vehicles and continue to Tikadewen for bivouac.

Day 7 – Tikobawin to Djanet

Morning departure from the rocky forest of Tikadewen towards Tilalen to see the Tadjlah Ekrar rock paintings. Continue to Assassou and the cave of Imourroudan, then on to Timghas for a short pause. Afternoon return to Djanet.
